Thank you for this wonderful post Devon. The art in the book looks stunning. It's incredible how you manage all the materials and techniques. I am truly in awe.
I love nerding out on paint, so I was too happy to read about your process! And funny how you hold up a glass bottle of Luma ink - I have some of these from way back when I was in NYC , and they’re the most vibrant colors! They’ve been discontinued, sadly… Oh, and I got myself 16 bottles of acrylic ink some days ago in an effort to work with large, flowy transparencies - and they’re driving me nuts😂
Ha, maybe it’ll work after some attempts! I guess acrylic ink is a bit thicker than watercolor? And oh yes, luma dyes are just the prettiest shades. I bought them in the late 90’s!
Beautiful! Love the insight into your process - struggles and all
Thanks Jacob! I really like to hear about the struggles too, as it's never easy ;)
Love this insight Devon! Thank you so much for sharing 😍
Thanks Annie, I'm happy to! Trying to get in the habit of writing again!

Thanks Juliana! I appreciate that :) I'd love to see your version of a bird book.
